Founder, NextGround

Devin M. Lewis is the founder of NextGround, a career navigation platform that helps K-12 educators move into coaching, leadership, and roles beyond the classroom. Originally from Texarkana, Texas, and now based in Houston, Devin started as a paraprofessional and sign language interpreter, then taught deaf education, social studies, and his district's first American Sign Language course. From there he coached teachers across five Texas districts, served as a content specialist for Teach For America, led strategic initiatives in EdTech, and became Director of Teacher Evaluation for Houston ISD, the largest district in the state. He studied at the University of Houston and the University of Houston-Downtown, earning a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies, and holds a Master of Science in Learning, Technology and Design from Houston Christian University.

Devin built NextGround because the advancement game in education isn't fair. The rule book is hidden. His mission is to hand it to every educator who's hungry for the next step, and to help them prepare before the title.
